Client questions

Start with the questions that matter.

You do not need to know every construction term before talking with us.

When should I bring RAC into the conversation?

Early conversations can help identify existing conditions, utility needs, landlord requirements, budget considerations, and scheduling questions before important commitments are made. You can contact us while evaluating a space or developing your project plan.

Do I need finished drawings before contacting you?

No. Tell us what you are planning and what information you have. We can discuss the next steps and the design or engineering input needed. A preliminary budget depends on assumptions and should be developed as the scope and design become clearer.

Can you help coordinate design and construction?

RAC helps connect the client, architect, engineers, equipment suppliers, and trade partners. We can discuss a design-build approach or work with a design team you have already selected. Responsibilities and scope should be defined for the selected arrangement.

Can construction happen while a building remains occupied?

That depends on the work and operating requirements. Planning should address access, deliveries, protection, noise, permitted work hours, and interruptions to building systems. We discuss phasing with the client, property manager, and project team before work begins.

What affects the construction schedule?

Design decisions, approvals, permitting, access, material availability, fabrication, inspections, and equipment coordination can affect timing. The schedule should reflect the project's actual requirements and be updated as information becomes available.

How do I share plans for a confidential project?

Start by contacting RAC with a general description. We can discuss confidentiality requirements, an NDA when appropriate, and the agreed method for exchanging documents before sensitive material is provided.

What should I include in my first inquiry?

Your name and company, project location, intended use, approximate size if known, current planning stage, desired timing, and a brief description of your needs.
